Can you provide a list of recommended exclusions for our antivirus product? We are experiencing a CPU spike in our antivirus agent during backups.

Hello btaratoot,
For a list of recommended excludes, please refer to our documentation:
https://docs.jetbackup.com/v5.3/adminpa ... 20exclude.
Starting from v5.3.10, there is a button to add these recommended excludes when creating/managing a backup job.
If you have additional questions or require further clarification, please feel free to reach out to our Tech Support team anytime by emailing
[email protected] or using our contact form.

Hey Kevin. I do not want to exclude anything from JetBackup backup jobs. What I need to do is exclude JetBackup from our antivirus product. I would expect that there is a list of JetBackup executables, temp folders, and/or backup files that I would exclude from scans by our antivirus product.

Hello btaratoot,
Thank you for clarifying. In this case, please allow all files/directories in `/usr/local/jetapps/` as this contains the required data for JetBackup to function properly.
Best Regards,

If you're still facing issues with CPU spikes, try excluding the /usr/local/jetapps/ directory in your antivirus settings, as suggested earlier. This should help reduce the load during backups.
