User running jetbackup

Hi,
I was using a selfmade backup solution before but am giving jetbackup a try.
I have a question setting up an ssh destination. Password logins are disabled on all my servers (only pub/priv key logins are allowed). So there already is an ssh key for the root user it can use to login, but when I enter /root/.ssh/id_ecdsa I get an error from jetbackup that it can't read the file. So as what user the software is running? And where can I place the key best so the software can access it?
