rsync & Amazon S3

We're currently backing up using CPanel native backup to S3. But we're running into space limitations because of the temporary copy each backup creates.

We've been looking for a way of using rsync with S3 as a more space efficient solution. I see in the JetApps documentation that the 'replicate' mode does offer an rsync solution, and JetApps supports S3. The question is does these two options work together?

I've looked at the manual ways of building this, and it's not straight forward. So looking for a commercial / packaged solution.

95% of our data that needs to be backed up sits in a single cPanel account and folder hierarchy. Backup history retention is not required.

Thanks for clarifying if JetApps can handle htat.

Hi,

If the main issue is the local copy that native cPanel backup creates prior of pushing the backup to S3, then using JetBackup should resolve the issue.

Thanks,
Eli.
