JetBackup v5.2 EDGE Release - End-User Panel Redesign

Post by JetAppsRichard »

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for providing your valuable feedback on our JetBackup 5 End-User Panel. Our developers heard your comments and agreed that there were many improvements that could be made to the End-User Panel to make it more "Simple" and "Clear to use". Our recent JetBackup 5.2.0 release to EDGE Tier has implemented many of the changes that you requested across all our channels like our Request Site. We would like to highlight some of the key changes that were made to give you a preview of these new enhancements.

1. Simplified End-User Dashboard

Our biggest change was the User Dashboard.
  • We have reduced the number of options that the end-user will have when first loading the End-User Panel.
  • The User Statistics are now specific to the logged-in user and no longer have unnecessary details.
  • We added "Quick Actions" to many of the user available actions like Restore and Download. *more info below*
2. New Restore and Download Page

The new Restore and Download page now allows the user to quickly select a Full Account Backup to restore or download with fewer clicks and dropdown menus. For Full Account Backups, JetBackup will only restore the available Backup Items they have permission to. If given the proper permissions, the User may also restore or download specific Backup Items using the alternate tabs. For more information on what permissions are needed for each Backup Item please visit the User Panel Documentation:

3. Backup on Demand Usage

The "Create Backup On Demand" is hidden on the user panel when the Backup on Demand setting is disabled on the Admin Panel. The admin can configure the "Automatically disable backup on-demand in the following cases" Setting in order to limit the types of accounts that can perform Backup on Demands based on their Disk Usage and Inode Usage. You can find more information about these settings at Settings Backup on Demand

Please feel free to try out the new End-User Panel available now on v5.2.0 EDGE Tier and provide your feedback below or on our Request.
Best Regards,
Richard, JetApps Team
